Campus News:
• The deadline has been extended for the Jared Box Project! Please donate to lift the spirits of chronically ill children at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. From now until this Friday, April 23th, SAGE will be collecting crayons, markers, coloring books, puzzles, Play-Doh, bubbles and other small toys. Bring items for the Jared Box to Mrs. Schmidt’s room, C278, or to the box in the library. This is your last week to contribute!
• DV Environmental Club mandatory meeting after school Thursday, April 22 in Mr. Lamb’s room, C-176 at 3:30. The ASU team will be speaking to you about the sustainability project and water conservation awareness. This is great opportunity, so make sure you attend!
• Renaissance cards have been distributed. If you think you should have a gold or silver card, please see Ms. Simon or Mrs. Wade in the Math Office immediately. No cards will be issued after Friday, April 30th. Again, if you believe you have earned a gold or silver Renaissance card, you must see Ms. Simon or Mrs. Wade in the Math Office immediately.
• Attention DV Science Bowl team members! Please stop by Mrs. Musheno’s room, C170, after school today if you still need to make final preparations for the competition on Saturday at Millennium High School!
• Attention HOSA members! There will be a special meeting for those of you who qualified for the National HOSA competition in Orlando, after school on today in room C170. HOSA competition winners, be sure to stop by C170 after school on Thursday!
Just another reminder, this week is Spring Fling Week here at DV! Thursday-is Oil and Vinegar, Mismatch Day. At lunch there will be having a salad-eating contest! Come out to the DJ booth if you would like to play for a chance to win a free spring fling shirt! And Friday-there will be having a carnival and a DJ at lunc
Sports News:
• The boys Lacrosse team showed great determination by staying focused and controlled at their game Tuesday night. This was their third OT game in a row. OT in lacrosse is sudden death. So there is a lot of pressure to perform perfectly in OT. Chandler was the number 2 team in the state and we this was the first time we beat them in two years! Ryan Miller had the winning goal and Brett Flawless had another great performance in goal with 14 saves. The team is looking forward to taking on another top team in the state Tuesday against Chaparral in Thunder Stadium!
• Coach Hinds is looking for a few highly motivated students who want to become part of the DV football family as a team manager. Come find coach Hinds, he would love to talk to you.
• Congrats to Boys Tennis for sweeping Mountain Pointe in the 1st round of State Playoffs.
• If you are a former track athlete, you must get your uniform turned in to Eric in the Equipment Room ASAP! These uniforms must be turned in by the end of the week.
• Please tune your TV’s to Channel 21 to view Student Election Speeches.
