ELENA: Don’t forget to pick up your homecoming shirt from the bookstore if you don’t already have one…and wear it to the game tonight as we take on the Chandler Wolfs right here in the Thunder Stadium at 7pm.

ELENA: Homecoming festivities are in full swing today…even the thunder Tykes showed their spirit in full costume…every single one was decked out including an alligator…spider man…ballerina…you name it. All in preparation for the homecoming parade that just happened featuring many DV clubs and activities.

ELENA: The homecoming carnival will be happening right before the game starting at 5:30pm. Don’t miss out on the food… games and rides!

ELENA: Our other football teams took on Chandler this week.

The undefeated Chandler traveled to DV earlier this week to play our freshmen but was defeated with a final score of 23 to 10.

ELENA: JV also crushed the wolves last night finishing with a score of 31-7. Congratulate the players as they finished 6-2. Great job guys.

Hopefully we can bring this good luck and great outcome to the game tonight. Good luck to all of the Varsity players.

ELENA: DV Swim and Dive have also had some impressive wins this week.  Last night both the girls and boys swim teams were declared champions as they won at city meet.

ELENA: DV Hockey will be playing this Sunday at 8:35 PM against Pinnacle, at the Alltell Ice Den! Come out and support as our fantastic teams compete in what will be a close game.

ELENA: Don’t forget…today is your last chance to check out the newest Black Box production…You Cant Take it With You. It will be a matinee performance starting at 4pm. Ticks are 5 dollars at the door.

JORDAN: I’m Jordan Young. Thank you for joining us. Today is Friday October 7^th, 2011.

JORDAN: Last night, the Thunder was up against the 2^nd longest winning streak team in the nation, Hamilton. A long and strenuous fight against the two teams lead to one of the toughest games of the season. Here’s what the head coach and one of the DV Varsity Players had to say.

JORDAN: This all out duel between the two teams ended up with a win for the Huskies over the thunder, with a final score of 35 to 10. But rest assured Hamilton, we will see you AGAIN in the playoffs.

JORDAN: While many of us will be enjoying the break, others will be taking a crack at the PSAT. Registration has officially closed.

If you are taking the test, remember that you must have your printed online registration, your bookstore receipt, and a photo ID to enter the exam.  If you don’t have all three, you will not be able to test.  If you have questions, see Ms. Domino in the English office.

JORDAN: After the break, take note of the upcoming club meetings for you to attend!

JORDAN: It’s not too late to join DV Book Club! If you are interested in reading and discussing great literature, please attend our next meeting on October 17th at 3:20 in the library!

JORDAN: There is no prom committee meeting today. We will see you again the Friday after Fall Break!

JORDAN: Hey seniors…We are currently collecting nominations for this year’s Homecoming Grand Marshall.  Grand Marshall is a teacher selected by the senior class who they think has been the most influential and memorable of their four years here.  To make your nominations, please go to the Senior Student Council Facebook page and find the Grand Marshall link.

JORDAN: Attention all clubs and groups on campus.  We are still looking for clubs to participate in this year’s homecoming carnival and parade.  If your group would like to march in the parade or sponsor a booth at Homecoming, talk to your sponsor to fill out the form or see Mrs. Fountain in C249.

JORDAN: Speaking of homecoming, the official date is Saturday October 29^th. Guest passes for non-DV students are now available on the DV School Fusion Website. You can find the link in the bottom, right hand corner of the home page. Remember, all non- DV students must be pre-approved to attend. If you have any other questions, please stop by the activities office.

JORDAN: The DV Latin Club has been holding a variety of special themed meetings and competitions for its members. Griffin Cuenca and I caught the action as the Latin Club hosts the exciting… the thrilling…Gladiator Wars…check this out…

JORDAN: Colleges continue to visit Desert Vista.  UCLA and Princeton have just added visits.  Sign up in the Counseling Office TODAY in order to attend these meetings after break.
