• Congratulations to Christina Mata. She was awarded the outstanding exceptional student by the Tempe-Kyrene Council for Exceptional Children. Congrats again to Christina for this amazing honor.
• Any senior who did not fill out (or needs to update) a senior college/scholarship survey in English classes should stop by the Counseling Office to make sure DV has your information.
• First session summer school registration has been extended to Friday, May 14th. Registration information can be obtained in the Counseling Office.
Clubs and Organizations:

• Renaissance cards have been distributed. If you think you should have a gold or silver card, please see Ms. Simon or Mrs. Wade in the Math Office immediately. No cards will be issued after Friday, April 30th. Again, if you believe you have earned a gold or silver Renaissance card, you must see Ms. Simon or Mrs. Wade in the Math Office immediately. .
• The Desert Vista Dance Company is presenting their final performance of the year entitled, “MTV”, this Thursday and Friday at 7:00pm in the Dr. Joe McDonald Auditorium. Tickets are on sale now in the bookstore for $5 each. Don’t miss the awesome dancing and choreography by our most experienced DV Dancers. It’s the last performance for our graduating Seniors, so come out and show them some support. There will be a teaser performance during 7th hour for any teacher who wishes to bring their class. Please RSVP by emailing Mrs. Caryl. Don’t miss out on the great entertainment the DV Dance Company will provide.

• Seniors! Grad Night Committee members will be visiting the English classes on Friday to update you on GRAD NIGHT and to pass out registration forms, collect other forms, and take t-shirt orders. If you plan to go to GRAD NIGHT, now is the time to print off your forms from the DV Website and bring your completed forms WITH payment to class on Friday. Time is running out! Graduation is only 4 weeks away! One more thing… If you are planning to order a t-shirt, please bring $15 to school Friday. That is the deadline! No late orders will be accepted. Any questions? Ask them on Friday to the volunteers who visit you in English. Don’t miss out on the biggest and best party ever!

Thunder Sports:

• Attention all boys who plan to play football next season. Spring Football practice begins next Monday May 3rd at 3:30. We will be meeting in the locker room first, before we go outside. Bring football cleats and wear a grey shirt and blue shorts. Coach Hinds wants to see you there!

• Congratulations to our DV Lacrosse player Tyler Kunce who won the Face-off Competition this weekend. With that win he was invited to participate in the championship tournament in Boston. Congratulations Tyler!

• The varsity baseball team defeated Brophy last night 7-1 behind the pitching of Shaun Chase and reliever Eric Brown. Offensively, Chase had a double and a 3 run home run, Jaycob Brugman and Hunter Rodriguez both had a doubles, and Matt Wehrli had two hits. Desert Vista again played excellent defense turning three double plays behind Tyler Adams, Drew Fischer, and Patrick Hickey.
