Our Day To Sign

They say life has many difficult decisions to deal with, but nothing was more difficult for the student athletes on National Signing Day at Desert Vista.

At the National Signing Day of 2010 students gathered in the auditorium and waited to announce their decision on what college they would like to play for at the collegiate level.  Fourteen students sat at the table wearing their hats to support the school of which they will be soon attending.

All of the athletes, coaching staff, and even Dr. Anna Battle gathered to share their feelings  on what it was like to be coached and to have coached such great and wonderful players.

“I am very proud of this chapter, these students have brought honor once again to Desert Vista,” Battle said. “I feel that it will be hard to let them go and grow up. But we have to know that these miraculous athletes have shined in ways with their dedication and passion to move on the next level.”

Battle’s insight on what it was like being a part of the athletes lives included her third son being recruited to play at the next level: Anders is headed for Northern Arizona University.

“ It was a difficult decision for me to make but I had to think of my education and for my family to be able to visit,” said Anders Battle.

National Signing Day is about more than just be recruited, it is a milestone in a person’s life.  All those recruited will not be forgotten because of their devotion and dedication to their sports.
