It’s not too early to early to start preparing for track

It is that time again! Track season is just around the corner and the students involved are getting ready to dominate. Their first real practice is going to start on February 8th, 2010. Even though it seems like it is far away from the real season, they are practicing at Desert Vista Park so they can get back into the swing of things for this year.

“I am very excited about this year because I feel like as a team we are going to do very well in competition since we have been working so hard,” Said Senior, Shaylah Simpson.

All of the categories under track and field have been working hard to pick the momentum back up from last year. They are hoping to come back again with a vengeance and win the state championship again like they did last year.

We were thankful enough to place in a variety of categories. Shaylah Simpson jumped 12’ 9 ¾“ in Pole Vault. That was enough to earn herself first place in the competition. She was only a junior then so who knows what she can do in her prime time as a senior.

As a whole, the track and field team has been working tremendously hard so they can represent our school proudly by winning another banner to decorate the gym.
