Campus News:
• Calling all Sophomores! Calling all Sophomores! It is time to take care of business on Wednesday. This is your opportunity to outperform all previous sophomore classes at DVHS on the Math AIMS test on Wednesday and the Science AIMs test on Thursday. We know that you have been prepared and we are counting you all of you to continue the excellence that we have displayed. Our students have always ranked at the very top in Arizona. You will, too! Freshman, this is your introduction to state assessments. Give your very best. Eat well and have a great night’s rest. Let’s do this Desert Vista. Go Thunder!
• Interested in seeing students think on their feet? Well, this week, DVs Improv troupe will be hosting the 2nd annual Improv show in the auditorium $5 addmission at 4:00 p.m on Thursday and friday! There will be games for the actors to play that will have the audience laughing off their seats! Hope to see you there!
• Just a quick reminder that your petitions are due today (April 6th ) at 3:30 in Mr. Marrero’s room – Lib-North. Remember – in order for your name to be placed on this year’s ballot, you must turn in your complete packet on time. Good luck to all the candidates!
• FCA huddle scheduled for Wednesday, April 7th had been cancelled. Next meeting will be April 21st – we look forward to seeing you then.
• Room assignments for AIMS Math, AIMS Science and the Stanford 10 tests are now posted by the bookstore, across from A163, near the Math Department Office and across from C216. Please check for your room assignments BEFORE the actual test days. Testing rooms are DIFFERENT for most students who are testing both days so be sure to look at all the posted room assignments. Please stop by the Counseling Office if you have any questions.
• This Wednesday, Key Club is holding a fundraiser for Relay for Life at Barro’s pizza on 32nd Street and Chandler. The fundraiser runs all day, and if you let the cashier know that you are there for Relay for Life, 20% of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. See you Wednesday!
• GRAD NIGHT Committee Members will be on Campus selling tickets, collecting registration forms/payments/waiver forms and selling t-shirts during lunch periods on the following dates: APRIL 6th, APRIL 12th, APRIL 13th! If you have not yet purchased tickets, this is the time to do it! We will be located in front of the cafeteria. Tickets for GRAD NIGHT are $100 AND t-shirts cost $15. Please go to the DV website under the GRAD NIGHT Link and print off your forms.
• Summer School registration is underway. First session registration deadline is April 23rd, so don’t delay. Classes are available on a first come, first served basis and some classes at Corona are filled and closed. Stop by the Counseling Office for registration information.
• The latest edition of The View Newspaper is in classrooms and in the newsstands. Be sure to pick one up. If you like what you see, let the staff know by sending them a email or writing a letter to the editor.
