Campus News:
• This Thursday at 7pm there is an open night benefit concert for Haiti. It will be in the black box. If you are interested in performing, come ready to perform at 6:45. Tickets are $5 and all proceeds go to Haiti relief fund. Come!
• Remember Wednesday is a 1/2 day and lunch will not be served – but Panda Express will be expecting you for lunch. Help raise money for the Swim and Dive Team by having lunch and/or dinner at Panda Express on Wednesday anytime between 12:30pm and 9pm. Pick up a flyer in the office or just be sure to mention that you are from DV and 20% of your purchases will be donated to the Swim and Dive Team. Thanks for your support.
• Attention NHS members: Please attend our speaker night tonight at the cafeteria at 6:30 pm. You will earn one hour of in school service. Pizza and water will be served.
• Come audition for this years dramatic play Children’s’ Hour, hosted by TSTDC. This show has a very girl heavy cast and will have two male roles. Auditions will be held in the black box (A164) on Wednesday at 3:10, YES there is a half day that day. They will still be held at 3:10. Callbacks will be held after school the following day!
• Do you have what it takes to be a leader at your school? Do you want to be able to make a difference? If so, then come join Student Council. We will be having a MANDATORY informational meeting Tuesday March 30th at 7:45 or 3:15pm in Mr. Marrero’s room, Lib-North. This meeting will give you important information about the election and how you can run for an officer’s position on Student Council. The 5 office positions for each class include only: a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasure and Spirit Director. So, please come to this mandatory meeting and help lead your school in the right direction! Remember all students are welcome.
• The Lip Sync Competition scheduled for this Friday is now postponed. Further information will be given at a later date.
• Free Prom Dress Give away on Friday, March 26th and Saturday, March 27th, 2010. All Arizona High School students are welcome to attend the Cinderella Affair Boutique to pick out a free new or gently used formal prom dress including accessories. The group’s mission is to make attending prom affordable for all Phoenix-area high school students. You won’t want to miss this opportunity for a free dress! Tempe Union High School District students should bring their school ID to the boutique on Friday, March 26th from 3 – 8 p.m. This day is for TUHS students only. The Cinderella Affair Boutique will be held at the Pyle Adult Recreation Center on Southern Ave. and Rural Rd. in Tempe. The address is 655 E. Southern Avenue. • There is a mandatory prom meeting on Friday for all prom committee members. Please be there @7:30!
• Prom is April 24th. Tickets go on sale next week! Who is your date?
• FCA meeting this Wednesday at 7am in the faculty cafeteria. Join them for donuts and a morning message!
• Attention, DV Science Bowl team members! We will have a meeting this Thursday after school in Ms. Musheno’s room! Come to celebrate our accomplishments, and to find out about a bowl competition we can attend in April. Science Bowl team, see you Thursday after school in C170!
• Summer School registration is underway. First session registration deadline is April 23rd, so don’t delay. Classes are available on a first come, first served basis and some classes at Corona are filled and closed. Stop by the Counseling Office for registration information.
• The 2009 edition of the NCTE-award winning Desert Vista Literary Magazine, What the Thunder Said, has arrived in the bookstore and is only $5! The Literary Magazine is 141 pages of incredible writing and stunning color photography by Desert Vista students. It only costs $5 and we have a limited number of copies, so pick up your Lit Mag in the bookstore today!
Sports News:
• The DV Lacrosse Club has a home game after school at 4:30 at Will Nolan Field across the street from the HS against East Valley Elite.
• DV Cheer tryouts are April 12-16. 
Two informational meetings will be held on March 23 and on March 30 at 6:00 pm in C-129.
You and a parent MUST attend one of the 2 meetings to get all the forms and information you need.


• The Varsity Hockey team knocked off the defending state champions Desert Mountain in the first round of the playoffs on Sunday by a score of 6-5! Half way through the game the score was tied 2-2, when Jordan Nahmias fired a shot on net and it was tipped in by Blake Kuehner. Then Desert Mtn. came back and scored two goals to take the lead, but Ryan O’shea scored his second goal of the game to tie it up. Shortly after, Evan Smith passed to Keanen Romero who took it all the way down the ice to score. Taylor Lang also added on another goal. Then with 22 seconds left in the game, McGregor Lippincott stood strong in net to secure the win for DV!
• Come Support them this Saturday, March 27, for their semi-final game at 5:20 p.m…Alltel Ice Arena in Scottsdale vs. Notre Dame Prep!
