TEAMS is organized by the national Junior Engineering Technical Society (JETS), a leading non-profit educational organization dedicated to inspiring America’s youth to pursue careers in engineering and technology, and is also supported by ASU’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.

This year, nineteen teams of students from 10 Valley high schools competed in the scholastic tests designed to provide them experience in applying the fundamentals of engineering – and show them how creativity combined with skills in math and science can have big impacts on the world. The theme for this year’s event was “Water, Water Everywhere” and focused on water consumption issues.

Our Desert Vista students won the state competition at ASU. The second part of the TEAMS competition is at the national level, and our students’ performance will be scored by JETS and compared to the results achieved by other teams across the country; we should get those results in about a month.

TEAMS coach Daryl Evans credits all of these students’ teachers, their parents and the environment provided here at DV for this team’s success in the state competition.
