There are many clubs on this campus but the one that will be talked about in this story is the Academic Decathlon Club. The Academic Decathlon is an academic competition that has two performance events, an essay, and seven multiple choice tests about Art, Economics, Language/Literature, Math, Music, Science, and Social Science all linked together by a different theme each year.

Every year one of the multiple choice events becomes the Super Quiz. The Super Quiz includes students from all achievement levels, including honors, scholastic, and varsity.

There are ten events where each team member competes against other students from different schools. The overall team scores are determined using the top two individual scores from each different division.

The awards consist of Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded for each event as well as group overall scores.

In 2006 the theme was China, in 2007 the theme was Civil War, and the theme for 2008 was Latin America.  What will the theme for 2009 be? Join the Academic Decathlon members and come support them on Mondays and Thursdays after school from 3-4pm in room C142. Good luck team!
