BROOKE: Today on this Friday… May 4th 2012…DV Choir is putting the final touches on tonights show… working out some final chords… perfecting their choreography… and getting ready to bring the Disney magic to DV.
BROOKE: I’m Brooke Serack… Thanks for joining us…This is DVTV…
BROOKE: Catch the POPS concert…at two different times today… at 4pm and at 7:30. Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults… and children 7 and under get in for free! But make sure to buy your tickets NOW! Tickets for the 7:30 show are ¾ of the way sold and the 4pm show is half way sold… all just from presales. Look for music from disney classics such as the Lion King… to Tarzan… to Aladdin. Don’t miss out on this incredible show!
BROOKE: If singing isn’t your thing… then maybe you want to try running…
All boys interested in cross country… there will be an introduction meeting at the DV track on Tuesday May 8th at 6pm. Contact Coach Williams in C-129 for questions.
BROOKE: And also in sports…although the boys varsity volleyball team defeated Hamilton in their previous match up…they could not beat their opponent last night…as they lost three to zero.
BROOKE: Two students from Mrs. Mckenna’s Bio 3-4 class have been working on the recycling bins around campus. They have spent months working on this project and would appreciate your support. So… make sure to place your cans in the bins. Every can recycled goes a long ways towards saving the earth.
BROOKE: But those students aren’t the only students who have been committed to a project. Mrs. Benedicts Honors Junior English classes have been working on a website to share with DV.
BROOKE: We have the teacher who has been leading this project… Mrs. Benedict… in the studio today to tell us more about what her students have been working on this semester…
BROOKE: Thank you Mrs. Benedict!
BROOKE: Juniors…are you signed up for Advanced Marketing and Business internship next year? There are 3 available jobs on campus…Working with the Thunder Tykes…Working in the front office…and a job in Media Marketing. If you’re interested…see Mr. Peterson…Mr. Hinds…or Mrs. Foster in the business office.
BROOKE: Although we’re sure seniors already know this… Graduation is less than a month away and many of you have not picked up your cap and gown from the bookstore. You must bring some form of ID to pick it up. They are piling up… so do not wait any longer! Go to the bookstore before or after school or during lunch.
BROOKE: While you’re putting off your homework tonight and spending time on Facebook… make sure to go to the “Senior StuCo” Facebook page to get the link for senior breakfast awards! Act quickly… as voting ends Monday… the 7th… at 11:59 PM! If you have any questions…. talk to any Senior Class Council member.
BROOKE: But for those who spent a little too much time on facebook this year… or are looking to just get ahead… A few first session summer school classes are full and have closed…PE…Health…and Government. Spanish 4 is closed and full second session. All other second session courses are still available.
BROOKE: Planning for our publications for next year is ready to begin. If you signed up for Yearbook, Journalism or Broadasting and would like to go to summer camp with our crews, see Mrs. Coro in A156. There is a three day trip to University of San Diego and a two day session at ASU, both in July after summer school ends. This is a great opportunity to be a leader and make the decision about your school publications.
BROOKE: A lot goes into prom night to make it as memorable as possible. For juniors and seniors it was a night amidst the stars… Julia Bulin has the story.
