JORDAN: Saturday was the night most of you Juniors and Seniors have been waiting for all year… Prom night..here is a quick recap of the evening..
JORDAN: This is what it looked like without throngs of people…a beautiful venue… a European village… then slowly wonderfully dressed juniors and seniors came in for an night amidst the stars… in long and short dresses tuxes and suits… the upperclassmen we normally see in jeans and tshirts cleaned up nicely and took to the dance floor… to the tunes provided by DJ …AJ Slim… Even though the dancing was energetic the venue stayed cooler than previous proms due to the open roof… Then there was a time out to announce prom king and queen… A couple from the senior class became king and queen and a couple from the junior class became prom prince and princess…The king and queen were Zach Warner and Ashley Rosseli… and the prince and princess were Pablo Picardo and Dana Cobb… As the evening wore on water became a necessity… as exhausted dancers began to leave and by 12:05 the dance floor was empty once again…

JORDAN: ReplayIt is the extra coverage for the fourth quarter of the school year. So, are you ready to get your yearbook? The yearbook distribution party will be next Monday…May 7th…in the cafeteria. Seniors will be allowed in at 2:30 pm and everyone else at 3:15 to 5 pm. If you haven’t pre-ordered yet, get one now at the bookstore for 85$. Come for the music…fun…and the chance to win an ipad…ipod touch…a Nooke…and many more! Jamba Juice will also be available. Check the lists that are posted across campus to see if you have bought a yearbook.
JORDAN: Seniors! Graduation is less than a month away and many of you have not picked up your cap and gown from the bookstore. You must bring a form of ID in order to pick it up! So do not wait any longer, go to the bookstore before or after school or during lunch.
JORDAN: The results are in…For your 2013 president Joshua Greene…Vice President Tess Kimura…Secretary Kelly Conrad…Treasurer Caroline Ozer…and Spirit Director Adrianna Ramos. For the class of 2014 your new president is Kazem Harfouche…Vice president Leah Castle…Secretary Mitch Siruno…Treasurer Josh Meyers…and Spirit Director Jasmine Coro. And finally for the class of 2015 your new president is Tommy Flogel…Vice president Sara Ozer…Secretary Hannah Daniel…treasurer Stephanie Christensen…and for Spirit Director Alexa Ryder. Congratulations to all of you and we are excited for next year!
JORDAN: In sports…The varsity softball team defeated Pinnacle 6-3 in the opening round of the playoffs this weekend. Danielle Block pitched 7 solid innings…striking out 8 batters…and surrendering only 4 hits. The team pounded out 11 hits and played an outstanding defense. Great job and good luck next tuesday as they take on Gilbert.
JORDAN: Varsity baseball won the first round of the state tournament defeating Boulder Creek 5 to 3. Shane Slattery got the Thunder started with a key R.B.I. early in the game with two strikes. Offensively… Zach Steigerwald…Aj Valencia…and Hunter Rodriguez had two hits each. Rodriguez was the winning pitcher with clutch help from Tyler Adams in the last inning. Lastly… Colby Woodmansee threw a key runner out at the plate in the 6th inning. Come support the boys as they take on Brophy at 4:00 tomorrow.
JORDAN: Lastly… DV Boys Lacrosse advanced to the second round of the playoffs! They will be playing Chaparral
in the Semifinal game at the ASU Soccer Stadium this Tuesday, May 1st at 7:30 pm. Make sure you come showing off your blue and gold. Go Thunder Lacrosse!
JORDAN: Juniors! Signed up for Advances Marketing and Business internship? Well there are 3 jobs on campus next year: Working with the Thunder Tykes…Front office…and Media Marketing. If you’re interested…see Mr. Peterson…Mr. Hinds…or Mrs. Foster in the business office.
JORDAN: Tuition Assistance for Dual Enrollment Courses for fall are due. This new spring deadline will allow students to know if they qualify for tuition assistance before they register for dual enrollment classes in the fall. JORDAN: A few first session summer school classes are full and have closed…PE…Health…and Government. Spanish 4 is closed and full second session. All other second session courses are still available.
