COURTNEY: Good Morning DV! I’m Courtney Floegel

CASSIE: I’m Cassie Fredrickson…Thanks for joining us…this is DVTV. Today is Friday, March 23rd, 2011.

COURTNEY: We are going to start the show with a story from yours truly along with Tristan Ezel and Seth Barrios all about how to get to your classes on time! Check it out!

CASSIE: Thank you Courtney! It’s that time of the year again when Relay For Life hosts the annual Garage Sale. Come on out to support our great cause Saturday, April 2nd. We will be in the DV office parking lot and open at 6 A.M. All the proceeds support the Awhatukee Relay For Life. Captains who still want to sign up their teams can come to the Ceramics room or can contact Mr. Honaker or Tony Garvey before Friday, April 1st.

This will be an awesome fundraiser and we encourage all students to come out with their friends and family to check out some great deals

COURTNEY: The end of this school year is coming up which means it’s almost time for prom! Prom this year will be on Saturday, May 7th from 7:30-11:30pm. The location will be revealed in just a few short weeks so stay tuned! But if you want to go and don’t have a dress yet then listen up!  The Cinderella Affair Boutique is holding their annual Free Prom dress give away Friday, March 25th and Saturday, March 26th!

CASSIE: It will be open to all of you junior and senior girls. There will be over 3800 new or gently used formal prom dresses including accessories choose from and all you need is your DV student ID.  The Cinderella Affair Boutique will be held at the Pyle Adult Recreation Center on Southern Ave. and Rural Rd. in Tempe. COURTNEY: But if you are not old enough for PROM then get excited because there is only a little over a week until MORP! It will be held next Saturday April 2nd and the theme is Beauty and the Geek! Come dressed in your suspenders or something more beautiful. Tickets will be in the bookstore for $7 starting this Wednesday or if you wait they will be $10 at the door.

And the guest passes can still be accessed through the school fusion website.  They must be approved by Wednesday, March 30th…no excepts will be made for late passes so don’t forget!

COURTNEY: Also coming up soon are the Student Class Elections! If you are interested in serving your school as a class officer next year and are ready to take DV to the next level, please come to the informational meeting on Tuesday March 29th at 7:45am or 3:20pm in room C-172.

You don’t want to miss out because this is an opportunity where everyone wins!

COURNTEY: Congratulations to Ryan Weaver, Advanced Marketing student and member of the Desert Vista DECA Club for winning a $1,000 dollar scholarship through the National DECA organization!  Way to go Ryan!

CASSIE: Attention HOSA members! Next Tuesday there is a mandatory meeting for all competitors in this year’s state competition. Also, come support Biomedical Debate and Speech Giving events, as they will be presenting at the genera meeting! See you after school Tuesday, in Mrs. Musheno’s room!

CASSIE: Fiddler on the Roof cast members and musicians…there will be a rehearsal today @ 3:30pm in the Orchestra room.

CASSIE: All FBLA members who are attending state competition need to see Mrs. Haynes to complete the registration process.   All money is due by this Friday so don’t forget!

COURTNEY: Cheer tryout meeting is Tuesday March 29th. 6pm room C129. See Ms. Butts for details.

COURTNEY: Come support your Desert Vista Boys Lacrosse teams as they take on Chapparral tomorrw night in our DV stadium. Junior Varsity plays at 6:00 pm and Varsity will play immediately following. Admission is free. So come on over to the stadium and show your spirit as we cheer on the boys lacrosse teams to victory!

CASSIE: This is the last week to register and pay for AP Exams for this May.  Please complete the registration process at http://www.totalregistration.net and the pay for the exams in the bookstore. March 25th at 3:30 is the deadline to register for AP exams.  After March 25 no more exams will be ordered.  See your AP teacher or Mrs. Hickel in the counseling office if you have any questions.

COURTNEY: Everybody knows our campus security is here to keep us safe but did you know the carts they use to get around school are not just for business Deonte Spencer gives us the inside scoop on the security carts
