As the warmth begins to take over Phoenix once again, stylish teens make the most of the smoldering heat with seasonal hairstyles.
French braids and are making a comeback from elementary school.
“I like to put my bangs in a French braid when it starts to get hot,” said Hayley Fry, Senior. “It’s a cute way to keep my hair out of my face.”
Stray hairs become a pain, and when it is hot, they can sometimes get stuck to forehead sweat; which is unsightly and uncomfortable! Pulling bangs back is a stylish and practical and way to beat the heat.
Leaving hair down can be played up with a bow or a flower. It is a popular technique to embrace the season and brighten up facial features.
“The flower adds something to a boring outfit,” said Erica Pletenik, junior. “I like to wear flowers with a not-so-girly outfit,”
Flowers give a feminine balance to tomboy looks, but when you are feeling real soft and girly, beachy waves are the way to go. Replacing the winter look of stick straight hair, natural waves are much less time consuming than routine straightening with a flat iron.
“I try to get my hair healthier by cutting back on straightening it,” said Tara Horkan, senior. “Also, I’m starting to get lazier and lazier as the year goes on and leaving my hair naturally wavy takes a lot less time in the morning!”
As the Earth moves closer to the sun and grades begin to slip, hairstyles adapt accordingly. Simple styles replace flashy ones due to lethargy and excitement of summer.
“I really just don’t care to get ready anymore like I used to,” Said Alex Beckett, senior. “The combination of overwhelming heat and homework make me too lazy to try!”
