Extra! Extra! For yet the second time this year, the journalism class has come out with another issue of The View. The November issue has perceived a common, reoccurring theme of giving and excitement from students before the end of the year. This issue contained articles about charities, national events, fads, social networking, and the grand homecoming week. From the hot and sweaty locker rooms, to the mindless behavior review, it is sure to be a good read for students.

“Our November issue was definitely better than the October one,” said View writer, Sydney Barendrick. “I feel that we put alot more effort into this one.” The Crew has worked hard to produce the issue, and are hopeful that they can be more punctual with the next one.

“Yes, we could be more prepared, and be expecting a deadline,” said Barendrick.

The student couldn’t agree more with the newspaper staff.

“They did really well this time,” said Hanna Crews. “It was more on time, and they had more interesting and timely articles.”

Articles such as Hot and Sweaty, the Secret Life of a Diabetic Teenager, and of course, the Homecoming center spread, were obviously the big hits for readers around campus.

“I personally liked the Mindless Behavior review,” said Crews. “It was very fun and easy to read and great information. My friends thought it was good as well. I am definitely looking forward to the December issue because they always have holiday stuff in there”.

Students are excited for the next issue which is set to have a theme of different holidays celebrated by different religions around the world.

“On the December issue, we will have lots of different cultures and holidays that apply to many of the students.” Barendrick said .

But that is just the center spread.

Monday is Mix Match Day, fall down the rabbit hole and see all of the things that mix match in Wonderland. Tuesday is Hat Day; meet your first friend in Wonderland the Mad Hatter.

Wednesday is Decades Day! Run into the rabbit that reminds everyone of their own favorite decades. Thursday is Twin Day, team up with a friend and match like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Finally, Friday is the day to wear homecoming shirts.  Homecoming shirts will be available for $10 in the bookstore starting Wednesday.

Dressing up for homecoming week is not only a fun and fashionable way to show school spirit, but a pizza may be involved! A random name is selected and if that person is dressed up for that day’s theme, you win a free Barros pizza for you and your friends.

Extra! Extra! DV’s first newspaper has been published for the 2011 school year. A stack of 20 Newspapers were delivered to every class room for students to peer at and analyze what is happening this month. The paper includes topics like the blood drive, movie reviews, the Cardinals assembly, fall fashions and even some Tukee Bowl reactions.

“It had a lot of information and had really big topics and little topics,” said Kaylee Glen. “I liked the pictures, but I think they should put bigger topics in there instead of little ones that people probably won’t read.”

So the reactions of the public were fair. The writers of The View themselves think mostly the same about the school’s October issue.

“I think we very good, because we had a lot of interesting stories, and good photos,” said Sydney Barendrick, a staff writer for The View. “But I think we could have been more prepared for the paper and written longer stories.”

The Journalism class worked hard in the class to complete the paper on time, but ended up being a little late. However they finally got the paper out. Hopefully, their work has paid off.

“I think that student won’t necessarily be in to our newspaper now in October,” said Barendrick, “but student will definitely be more interested in our November and December issues, because of the sentimental value of the Holidays and the exiting events still to come in the school year.”

The public agrees: “Yes, I will definitely read the next issue. I always get excited for our school newspaper,” said Glen.
